Privacy Policy
What we collect
- What you type into the app — profiles you create (e.g. your child's grade and area of need, your parent's medications, your pet's breed), logs, and questions you ask.
- Your email, when you give it to us (sign-in, the free checklist, or booking a review).
- Documents you send us for a paid review (e.g. an IEP or a medical bill).
- Basic usage events (e.g. "visited the page," "clicked the button") so we can see what's working. No advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To run the product: grounding AI answers in the profile you created, saving your logs, delivering reviews you purchase.
- To email you things you asked for, and occasional service updates. Unsubscribe anytime by replying.
- To improve the product using aggregate usage patterns.
- We do not sell your personal data. Ever.
About children's information
cares-ai is for adults — parents and caregivers. We don't knowingly collect information directly from children. When you share information about your child (like an IEP), you do so as their parent or guardian, and we treat those records as sensitive: used only for your review or your account's features, never shared or sold, deleted on your request.
Who touches your data
- Service providers we rely on: Supabase (database & sign-in), Stripe (payments — we never see your card number), Netlify (hosting), Anthropic (AI processing of the questions you ask). Each receives only what's needed for its job.
- AI processing: your questions and the context you've entered are processed by an AI model to generate answers. Paid reviews are additionally checked by a person.
- We disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, and we'll tell you unless we're legally barred.
Your choices
- Delete: email caresaiapp@gmail.com and we'll delete your account data and documents.
- Access/correct: same address; we'll send you what we hold.
- Data is stored in the United States. If you use cares-ai from elsewhere, you're sending data to the US.
Terms of Service
What cares-ai is — and isn't
- cares-ai provides information, preparation, and organization: plain-language explanations, document reviews, meeting prep, drafts, logs, and reminders.
- It is not a law firm, medical provider, veterinarian, financial advisor, or licensed advocate service, and nothing it produces is legal, medical, or financial advice. AI answers can be wrong — verify anything important, and for binding decisions consult a licensed professional. We'll often point you to one.
- For emergencies, call 911 or your doctor/veterinarian — not an app.
Paid one-time reviews (e.g. the IEP Review + Meeting Packet)
- You purchase through Stripe. After payment, we ask you to share the relevant document securely by email; your turnaround window (about 2 business days, or 24 hours for rush) starts when we receive it.
- Money-back guarantee: if the review doesn't help you, reply to your receipt within 14 days and we'll refund it in full.
- The deliverable is preparation material for you — we don't represent you at meetings or communicate with third parties on your behalf.
Contingency bill review (Health-Admin)
- The review is free. If — and only if — we reduce your bill, you pay the agreed share of actual savings. If we save you nothing, you owe nothing. Savings are never guaranteed.
Subscriptions
- Optional monthly/annual plans unlock app features. Cancel anytime; access runs to the end of the paid period.
Partner links
- Some links (e.g. vet telehealth, insurance, senior-living placement) are affiliate or referral partnerships — a partner may pay us, at no cost to you. We disclose these in the app, and they never change our advice: escalation and safety guidance always come first.
The boring-but-necessary part
- Use cares-ai only for lawful purposes and only for people/pets you're authorized to act for.
- The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- We may update these terms; material changes will be noted on this page with a new effective date. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which cares-ai operates.
